Khanom, Thailand was perhaps the closest to paradise that an Industrial Jobsite could possibly be. The Khanom Gas Terminal received Natural Gas from an Offshore Platform at 5000 PSI, stepped the pressure down and provided heated conditioned Gas to several very large GE Gas Turbines that were being commissioned. The Gas was received with a great deal of Condensate - this was used to fuel the Circulation Heaters. Each maintained a Heat Exchanger in the Low Pressure Natural Gas System, which brought the Gas up to a temperature that would permit saturation with additional Condensate that was sprayed in the Gas Stream. This greatly increased the Specific Heat Content of the Fuel to the Turbines. |
